Structure of the IFMSA
Any projects within the IFMSA are carried out within the framework of one of 6 committees:
Standing Committee of Medical Education (SCME)
To conduct debates on medical education issues that promote the exchange of experience and the dissemination of innovations.
Standing Committee of Research Exchange (SCORE)
Coordinates international scientific exchanges and participation of students in scientific projects.
Standing Committee of Professional Exchange (SCOPE)
Coordinates international exchanges of medical students among foreign healthcare institutions.
Standing Committee of Public Health (SCOPH)
Serves for public health projects ranging from smoking cessation programs to modern transplant issues.
Standing Committee of Reproductive Health and AIDS (SCORA)
Deals with issues of sexual education and the fight against AIDS at the global level.
Standing Committee of Human Rights and Peace (SCORP)
The Human Rights and Peace Committee coordinates health projects in developing countries.
Krasnodar Local Committee of IFMSA. International Student Exchanges
Since 2012 KSMU has been an active participant in the professional and research student exchange program of the National Union of Medical Students (NUMS), together with the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA).
Since 2007 HCSM has also become a member of the International Association of Dental Students (IADS).
Types of exchanges.
There are 2 types of international student exchanges within the IFMSA Professional Exchange:
Bilateral — our student is doing an internship abroad, and we accept a foreign student in Krasnodar.
Unilateral — not accepting an international student. In addition to the IFMSA fee, our student pays for accommodation and meals.
Program goals:
provide medical students with the opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues from other countries;
provide medical students with a unique educational and cultural experience, in addition to regular classes;
improve the quality of exchanges.
Brief description of the program:
duration of practice - 4 weeks in English or in the language of the host country;
trainings in clinical and preclinical disciplines (the ability to choose the discipline you are interested in);
practice under the guidance of a foreign doctor (no payment for practical work);
familiarization with the foreign healthcare system;
the opportunity to expand your prospects in scientific activities in different countries;
provision of food, accommodation, cultural program.
Requirements for the participant for all types of exchange:
be a student of FSEI HPE Kuban State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia II-VI courses of medical, dental or pediatric faculties;
the level of knowledge of English is not lower than the level of Intermediate;
good academic performance (according to the dean's office);
responsibility, independence, communication skills.
Stages of Participation
Participation in international student exchanges includes 3 stages:
English language test:
- Grammar test;
- Medical part;
- Speaking;
Based on the results of the test, students participating in the exchange are determined. A higher score increases the student’s chances of participation and the opportunity to choose the desired country.
Based on the test results, an IFMSA certificate is issued and the level of foreign language proficiency is fixed in percent.
Choosing a country, paying the fee and preparing the necessary documents.
When deciding to participate in the exchange, the student and the organization sign an agreement that specifies the rights and obligations of the parties.

Applying for a visa, depending on the country, and purchasing tickets.
Passing an internship
Upon completion of the internship, an international certificate is issued, an official document confirming participation in the program.
