Faculty of Preventive Medicine was founded in 1998. The first dean of the Faculty was Doctor Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Lischenko N.N. (1998-2006), afterwards the Faculty was headed by Doctor Medical Sciences, Professor Letchcheva G.A. (2006-2015). Since 2015 the dean of the faculty has been Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of Hygiene and Ecology Kiyok O.V.
Specialization of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine is general hygiene (communal hygiene, hygiene of food, hygiene of children and adolescents, occupational hygiene, radiation hygiene), epidemiology, clinical and laboratory diagnostics as well as bacteriology, virology, parasitology and entomology.
Training at the Faculty is carried out by highly qualified teaching staff including 52 Doctors of Sciences and 212 Candidates of Sciences and the leading experts of Rospotrebnadzor of the Krasnodar Region and Federal Budget Health Care Institution “Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Krasnodar Region”.
Due to the specificity of the Faculty it has more than 30 training bases in the region. Classes where students acquire and develop practical skills are fit out with modern equipment, literature and regulatory documents.
Students of the Faculty are engaged in research work. Every year they become winners and prize-winners of students scientific and practical conferences. Six students have won encouragement prizes established by the Government for the talented youth.
High level of students’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills is confirmed by the results of the state testing certification. More than 180 graduates inspect sanitary and epidemiological situation of the Krasnodar Region and other regions of the Russian Federation.
